The Royal Institute of Tourism and Hospitality (RITH) is Bhutan’s premier institution dedicated to excellence in tourism and hospitality education. Established in 2002 with the support of the Austrian Development Agency, RITH emerged as the country’s first training institute in the sector. Initially housed in the refurbished Motithang Hotel, the institute officially launched its diploma program in 2010 and became fully operational by 2011.

RITH’s curriculum, developed in collaboration with esteemed institutions like Salzburg University of Applied Sciences and Zurich University of Applied Sciences, ensures internationally recognized qualifications. Our programs integrate rigorous academics with hands-on training, supported by faculty exchange, private-sector engagement, and global accreditation.
