About Us

The Royal Institute of Tourism and Hospitality (RITH) stands as Bhutan’s premier institution, dedicated to excellence in tourism and hospitality education. Established in 2002 with the support of the Austrian Development Agency, RITH emerged as the country’s first specialized training institute in the sector. Initially housed in the refurbished Motithang Hotel, the institute officially launched its diploma program in 2010 and became fully operational by 2011.
